Job Description
As an attorney with 2-5 years of experience with real estate transactions, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance and expertise on a wide range of real estate matters. You will represent clients in simple and complex real estate transactions, negotiate agreements, and ensure legal compliance in all aspects of real estate law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transactional Experience: Assist on and oversee complex real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development projects. Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements such as purchase contracts, leases, easements, joint venture agreements, and other similar real estate agreements.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence reviews on real estate properties, including title examinations, zoning assessments, environmental documentation review, and regulatory compliance checks. Identify potential legal issues and provide strategic solutions to mitigate risks.
- Legal Counsel: Provide legal advice and counsel to internal clients on a wide range of real estate matters, including property rights, land use regulations, landlord-tenant issues, property management, and construction issues. Offer proactive solutions to resolve legal challenges and achieve internal clients' objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends. Ensure internal clients' compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws, including zoning ordinances, land use regulations, and environmental regulations.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal clients. Understand business objectives and provide tailored legal solutions to meet their needs.
- Team Cooperation: Work cooperatively with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff members. Provide support and perspective to ensure the successful execution of real estate transactions and legal projects.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association and license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing real estate law, preferably with a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Proven track record of successfully handling complex real estate transactions.
- Strong understanding of real estate principles, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
