This position provides daily support to the Attorneys and Paralegals with routine matters. Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, track flow of legal paperwork and maintain the electronic file system. The Paralegal 1 must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.    

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint and Outlook, needed to schedule meetings, create detailed spreadsheets, maintain Outlook calendar(s) and schedule meetings. Responsible for maintaining physical and electronic file systems.
  • Drafts and proofreads basic legal documents when working with attorneys and paralegals. Prepare and convert documents, and organize, log and track the flow of legal paperwork.
  • Responsible for adding new business vendors in Agiloft, and for processing payment of legal invoices and preparing check requests via Microsoft D365.  Maintain Purchasing and Corporate Card payments and expenditure vouchers via Concur.
  • Prepare cover letters, detailed emails, memos and correspondence being sent to business partners, state agencies, vendors, etc
  • Manage and complete multiple and/or additional responsibilities that may become evident and necessary to ensure efficient administrative operations within the Legal department.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Associates Degree, Paralegal Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate

1-3 years of Paralegal or Para-Professional experience required.

Proven advanced computer skills (including Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new programs.

Strong administrative, organization and planning skills.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize while working in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to produce quality work with strong attention to detail.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
