As Junior Legal Counsel, you will focus on claims management and HR-related legal matters while also supporting contract review and compliance for logistics operations. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate logistics-related agreements, including transportation and warehousing contracts, as well as other commercial agreements
- Handle and manage transportation and cargo claims, including drafting demand letters, settlement agreements, and coordinating with insurers and external counsel
- Provide guidance on carrier liability, warehousing liability, bills of lading, and transportation documentation
- Support business development by assisting with RFP responses and contract negotiations with customers, carriers, and logistics partners
- Assist with HR-related legal matters such as policy review, compliance investigations, and employee relations issues
- Develop legal resources and training materials, including claims handling guidelines and HR compliance resources
- Maintain key external relationships with outside counsel, auditors, insurance providers, and regulatory authorities
- Collaborate across global teams, working effectively with stakeholders across different time zones and cultures
- Support additional legal needs including corporate governance, joint ventures, and dispute resolution as required
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school and active membership in Texas Bar in good standing
- Minimum 4 years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house), with exposure to transportation, logistics claims, and HR-related matters
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, including FMC rules, OSRA 2022 provisions on demurrage/detention, warehousing liability frameworks, and basic understanding of U.S. employment law
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and executive reporting
- Business-oriented legal approach with ability to provide practical solutions that balance risk and business objectives
- Excellent analytical capabilities, self-motivation, and independent problem-solving abilities
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), legal research tools (Westlaw, Practical Law), and adaptability to learn contract management systems (e.g., Cello)
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for site visits, contract negotiations, and dispute resolutions
- Work Location: 3033 W President George Bush Hwy, Suite 250, Plano, TX 75075 (Hybrid schedule: minimum 3 days onsite per week)
