The Senior Accountant role will have a primary responsibility of maintaining Firm books and records as well as Trust compliance, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, Kim S. Jeffcoat. An ideal candidate will ensure compliance, efficiency, and exhibit excellent time management. We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, intentional person who understands our financial goals and has imperative attention to detail.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the Firm and attorneys are in full compliance with the South Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct.
- Document and record transaction details in QuickBooks and Litify.
- Handle confidential financial reports.
- Fact checks accounting data for accuracy and completeness.
- Advise the CFO of accounting errors and inconsistencies.
- Run payroll and track data.
- Ensure compliance with trust agreements.
- Perform data entry tasks and provide data-driven insights for process improvement.
- Collaborate with the AR/AP Specialist to process accounts receivable/ payable in a timely manner.
- Assist in developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations, addressing discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain trust records.
- Attends required morning and monthly meetings.
- Performs other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Who you are:
- 3+ years of Accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Learn The Jeffcoat Firm processes and make appropriate suggestions where necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism, exercising discretion when dealing with sensitive and high-level client and business matters.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks.
