Job Summary: The Court Reporter/Transcription Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality court reporting and transcription services for the VA Saint Louis Health Care System (VASTLHCS). This role requires accurate and timely production of transcripts for various legal and administrative proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
Court Reporting:
Attend and accurately record proceedings, meetings, and other events as required.
Utilize appropriate recording and transcription equipment to ensure the integrity of the recorded material.
Transcription Services:
Transcribe recorded proceedings into clear, accurate, and timely written transcripts.
Adhere to specific turnaround times for transcript delivery:
Same Day
Next Day
Two Day
Three to Five Day
Ten Day Turnaround
Provide telephonic reporting and transcription as needed.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all transcripts.
Conduct thorough reviews and edits to ensure error-free documentation.
Compliance:
Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and contract specifications.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all sensitive information.
Comply with the Department of Veterans Affairs and federal acquisition regulations.
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a court reporter preferred.
Proven experience in court reporting and transcription services.
Proficiency in using transcription software and equipment.
Excellent listening, typing, and editing skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Familiarity with legal and medical terminology is a plus.
Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection standards.
