Duties If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for enforcing Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect life, liberty and the property of citizens. You will support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and legal support staff by providing a variety of docketing and office support services. If selected, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Typical work assignments will include: Inputs information into databases and systems and updates records. Updates databases and systems to record status changes in all items docketed. Makes required data corrections as requested by authorized staff. Recognizes data elements that are missing and locates as necessary. Develops and maintains automated records from initial referral to final disposition and case file closure Receives and reviews incoming case files and documents. Extracts requested program and/or statistical data when requested. Advises other docketing personnel on unique or complex cases or situations. Based on knowledge of legal processes involved, and after review of automated records, determines when a case may be closed out of the system. Provides ongoing instruction on docketing requirements and procedures. Provides information in an optimally precise and accurate manner. Explains the operation of the automated system and the importance of timely information to new legal staff. Reviews reports to identify recurring errors. Provides legal support services to the legal divisions. Reviews case files to ensure all information is correct and completes records as necessary. Assists in a variety of administrative services activities to include mail processing and reception duties. Following local procedures, receives visitors to the office and issues visitor badges and passes. Produces a variety of written documents and materials utilizing a wide range of office automation applications Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
