- Position Information
The purpose of this classification is to coordinate the day-to-day operations and staff of an assigned specialized division of the Court.
- Essential Functions
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff and program volunteers: develops and oversees schedules to meet program objectives; processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; develops performance measures for staff and volunteers; provides feedback to employees on performance, customer compliments and complaints; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
Plans, develops and implements short and long-term goals, objectives, and strategies for specialized area(s) of assignment to ensure efficient organization and utilization of allocated resources
Develops operational guidelines and procedures for the overall and day-to-day operation of the programs under charge; ensures operations comply with established policies, procedures and applicable regulatory standards.
Provides and ensures proper training and development for staff and/or volunteers in carrying out programs under charge in accordance with program and County policies and procedures; such training includes administrative operations, training specific to the program mission, and safety.
Creates and disseminates training and awareness materials in support of the program's mission, e.g., domestic violence, stalking, mediation principles and techniques, legislative changes, policy and procedure manuals.
Receives and responds to requests, complaints, concerns, and general inquiries regarding program; provides direction, information and/or resolution accordingly.
Collects and maintains information and statistical data regarding program activities; reviews and develops routine and special reports regarding successful attainment of program initiatives; utilizes data for grant proposals where applicable and as needed for special projects.
Proactively recruits for various entities to participate in delivery and administration of program area of assignment, e.g., instructors, speakers, volunteers, industry professionals, legislators, members of the judiciary, counselors, mediators.
Prepares or oversees the preparation of financial, registration, attendance, and special project reports, memos, and correspondence; develops and interprets charts, diagrams, and statistics on operations to support program recommendations.
Performs public relations activities in representing the department and presenting information to citizens, businesses, schools and community boards and in a variety of forums, e.g., newsletters, broadcast media, advertisement, public and educational presentations
Works collaboratively and inter/intra-departmentally with representatives from other programs, members of law enforcement, members of the judiciary, and external entities to ensure appropriate support and efficient coordination and cooperation for all parties
Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field of judicial administration for application to functions under charge.
Maintains attendance and punctuality within customary tolerances for this position.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Services, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field; supplemented by two years previous experience that provides broad knowledge of the judicial process with respect to the assigned program area; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.- Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
