The Mission of the FAIR POLITICAL PRACTICES COMMISSION (FPPC) is to promote the integrity of representative state and local government in California through fair, impartial interpretation and enforcement of political campaign, lobbying, and conflict of interest laws.

The Mission of the Legal Division is to provide interpretation and analysis of laws, court decisions, and rules and regulations affecting the Commission. The Legal Division ensures that consistent and sound advice is given by staff, and also coordinates the development of legislative proposals, regulations and Commission opinions. The division's responsibilities include acting as legal counsel for the Commission.

Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on the Fair Political Practices Commission’s current telework policy. While FPPC supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the FPPC.
