About the Position: This is a developmental GS-0260-09 target 12 position as an Equal Employment Specialist as the Disability Program Manager at the USAG Fort Stewart EEO Office. The Equal Employment Specialist is responsible for administering Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program for the USAG Fort Stewart.
Duties- Preparing reports on the effectiveness of the Special Emphasis Programs.
- Serve as the Disability Program Manager.
- Assisting leadership in investigating and informally negotiating with aggrieved/ complainant to effect resolution of complaint.
- Representing EEO Garrison in contacts with community elements interested in civil rights/equal opportunity topics/issues.
- Developing the presentation of training for managers, supervisors, and employees.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Tracking data received from employees requesting reasonable accomadations or employees with disabilities; working iwth employees who have Schedule A; AND 2) Pulling reports to analyze workforce demographic and diversity data to monitor the progress in achieving Equal Employment Opportunity goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Employment Law.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Advising management officials and employees on Disability programs and basic EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) program requirements; AND 2) Promoting equal opportunity objectives through advising or training employees or managers on equal opportunity rights; AND 3) Developing presentations for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Employment Law.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience working with the disability program (special emphasis, reasonable accommodations and affirmative action) and researching and utilizing the laws, regulations, policies and practices of a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program such as; Office of Personnel Management, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, Civil Rights, EEO laws Code of Federal Regulations, Court decisions, Army Regulations and management directives to adjudicate, adjust and appeal EEO complaints. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
