Job Description
Empower Patent/Intellectual Property Counsel (Part-time)
Work with the Company’s CTO and senior engineers on drafting patent filings and preparing filings and responses for a portfolio of over 100 US and international patents.
- File 1+ patent per month
- Managing Empower’s patent portfolios in the US and internationally.
- Respond to NDA requests from customers and suppliers
- Seeking part-time/ad hoc Work From Home position
Who We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of patent experience, J.D. or equivalent; California bar admission a plus
- Background or experience in the semiconductor industry with an ability to understand advanced semiconductor fabrication technologies
- B.S. in a semiconductor related discipline: Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry preferred. Close collaboration and communication with Empower CTO requires a strong technical background and engineering mindset
- Excellent legal and analytical skills coupled with a good business sense.
- Excellent English-language skills and ability to distill and communicate the importance of complex IP matters.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines and to perform under pressure
