We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Legal Staff Manager to lead, mentor, and manage our firm’s legal support staff. This hybrid role combines people leadership, operational management, and workflow oversight to ensure the department achieves excellence in client service and case outcomes. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in managing people, processes, and resources to drive efficiency and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise legal staff assignments, workload distribution, and performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching for growth.
- Lead onboarding, training, and continuing education initiatives for legal staff.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to staff, encouraging professional development.
- Operational Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized procedures for legal support staff.
- Partner with firm leadership on staffing needs, resource allocation, and case support strategies.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules, filings, and firm protocols.
- Track team performance metrics and provide reporting to leadership.
- Process & Technology Oversight
- Evaluate workflows and implement process improvements for efficiency and consistency.
- Manage use of legal technology platforms and case management systems to optimize staff workflows.
- Collaborate with IT, HR, and operations teams to ensure staff have the tools and resources needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Paralegal Certificate a plus.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or management role within a legal environment.
- Preferred: experience managing a team of legal staff (paralegals, legal assistants, etc.).
- Strong background in workflow design, process improvement, and team leadership.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with legal technology platforms and case management software.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary-$70,000- $85,000 (Competitive salary commensurate with experience)
