The Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney is one of the nation's largest municipal law offices. - Duties and Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator will perform a comprehensive range of administrative duties for the City Attorney and members of the Executive Office, including:
- Preparing, reviewing and editing documents including correspondence, memorandum and periodic reports;
- Communicating via email and telephonically with the public, elected and appointed federal, state and city officials, their staff, attorneys and office personnel;
- Assisting with the implementation of office policies and procedures;
- Coordinating, scheduling and maintaining the calendar of the City Attorney and Executive Office staff;
- Assisting with event planning on behalf of the City Attorney and other Executive Staff;
- Arranging travel and accommodation logistics;
- Assisting with implementing special projects and initiatives;
- Maintaining office supplies and equipment, including tracking requests for furniture and equipment;
- Providing assistance to other members of the Executive team as needed; and
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- Requirements
Candidates must have at least one year of full-time professional experience performing duties and responsibilities related to the Administrative Coordinator role. Additional requirements include:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience in reviewing, formatting and processing reports, letters and memoranda;
- Proficiency with the primary computer programs and systems used by the office;
- Excellent language, spelling, grammar and punctuation skills;
- Strong proofreading skills;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities;
- Quick learner with sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information;
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to pay close attention to detail, and ability to work as a team;
- Represent the City Attorney and the Executive Office with professionalism;
- Possess a work history of reliability, punctuality, strong work ethic, and good attitude;
- Ability to work with minimum supervision;
- The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with expected evening and weekend commitments; and
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and excellent work habits are essential.

Current Location
200 N. Main Street, Los Angeles CA. The position is subject to assignment at any location of the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney.
Probation
Appointment to this exempt position (non-Civil Service) will be subject to a one-year probationary period as required by Section 1050 of the City Charter. Successfully completing this probationary period will result in tenure with the office.
Conflict of Interest
This position is designated as Category 12 on the Conflict-of-Interest Code.
