TheOffice of Chief Counsel (OCC)is seeking an experienced professional capable of functioning in a fast-paced, challenging legal environment to complete our team. As a Legal Assistant 1, you will have the opportunity to provide clerical support within the OCC's Worker's Compensation (WC) Division to maintain effective and efficient operations of the office. If you enjoy working as part of a productive team to accomplish goals and tasks, this is the job for you!As a Legal Assistant 1, you will be expected to timely produce work product of high professional caliber and volume. Work includes typing, formatting, revising, and proofreading legal documents for Assistants Counsel and Outside Counsel for the Uninsured Employers Guaranty Fund (UEGF). This may include briefs, pleadings, petitions, appeals, liens, writs of execution and similar legal filings, as well as general correspondence. You will utilize Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, OGC Intranet, and Excel to complete your work. Effective communication is key as you will contact court, counsel, clients, and others to obtain or relay information. You will have the opportunity to perform other clerical support duties, such as handling mail, answering the telephone, scanning files, faxing, using a copy machine, maintaining a calendar, and managing office equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week (anticipated). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: Applicants new to the Commonwealth will start at the starting salary rate of $39,785

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires six or more months of full-time experience working in a legal office or legal setting.
