Defense Litigation Attorney-Professional Liability

Job Summary:

Are you looking for a growing organization to plant your roots and be a part of? We are seeking a 3–5-year Associate Attorney to join our Professional Liability Defense Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent research and writing skills, and an ability to handle a diverse caseload. The Associate Attorney will work closely with a Shareholder to represent clients in various legal matters, including securities litigation, regulatory issues as well as professional liability matters.

Responsibilities:

1. Experience with Construction Defect, A&E, and Environmental Law.
2. Conduct legal research on various issues and provide analysis and interpretation of statutes, regulations, and case law.
3. Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs as well as detailed client reports.
4. Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and mediations.
5. Interview clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information and evidence for cases.
6. Collaborate with Shareholders and legal staff to develop case strategies and trial preparation.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Alabama state bar association. Other state admissions a plus.
2. 1-3 years of experience in a litigation practice.
3. Strong academic record (Top 25% of your graduating class) with excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
4. Ability to work in a team environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
7. Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.
8. Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and areas of law.
