Legal Assistant

TrustWorks Law is seeking a meticulous and proactive Legal Assistant to join our estate planning law firm. TrustWorks provides comprehensive personalized estate planning services to help clients prepare for the future. We are seeking to hire Legal Assistants which will be assigned an office in metro Atlanta or in one of our 5 offices located outside of Atlanta. 

As the Legal Assistant, you will have substantial client contact as well as interaction with attorneys.  The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to the attorney and assist with a variety of tasks related to estate planning files.  The Legal Assistant will be primarily responsible for producing estate planning documents and compiling the binders for signings.

Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Type, edit, format and proofread a variety of moderate to complex documents and collaborate with attorneys to coordinate document production.
  • Preparation of Estate Planning Binders, ensuring accuracy before and after signings.
  • Answering the phones and directing calls, if necessary.
  • Filing all documents and loose papers systematically, maintaining an organized filing system (electronically and in paper, as determined).
  • Recording documents and deeds with courts, E-filing
  • Coordinate client meetings and calendar events.
  • Assist with, and sometimes conduct, signing appointments with clients.
  • Assist in seminars, if needed.
  • Conduct the post-consultation client intake interview.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned with dedication and professionalism.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of the Estate Planning Rules as well as the Rules of Civil Procedure and Statutes of assigned state.
  • Exemplary professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Remarkable organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively manage relationships.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and tackle opportunities with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, organize, and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Advanced computer literacy with Windows applications, Web applications, MS Office, Google Docs, and other modern business applications.
