This position is responsible for providing legal representation in a wide variety of transactional matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements such as: vendor and procurement contracts, colocation agreements, and telecommunications agreements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may require supervision of legal staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts relating to the Switch ecosystem such as vendor and procurement contracts, colocation agreements, and telecommunications agreements
- Provide practical, business-oriented advice directly to business clients from various levels and departments
- Manage projects and contract negotiations from beginning to end by reviewing draft contracts, preparing redlines, collaborating with teams across Switch, leading contract negotiation calls, and efficiently bringing deals to a favorable close
- Maintain and update existing templates and contracting processes
- Coordinate between departments to facilitate completion and execution of various projects
- Support implementation of existing agreements, policies, and practices
- Prepare reports and transaction memos and perform legal research
- Review and update policies and procedures
- Support corporate transactions and other special projects as needed
- Provide general corporate legal representation as needed
- Perform other assignments or duties as needed to support the Switch Legal team

Computer Equipment and Software:
- Intermediate working knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), DocuSign and Adobe
- Advanced understanding of contract and file management solutions
Education and Experience:
Education:
- J.D. required
- Bar admission and in good standing in at least one state.
Experience:
- Licensed to practice law in a U.S. state
- 3-6 years of significant relevant transactional experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Procurement, data center, telecommunications, and/or corporate transactional experience a positive, but not required
