Director of Litigation

$147,446-$191,680 minimum starting pay

What You Will Be Doing:

Leads the Claims Litigation function and oversees department compliance activities. Directs Managing Litigation Counsel, Senior Counsel, and Litigation Counsel in the timely, cost‑effective disposition of claims litigation involving policyholders and the Companies. Advises Claims leaders and staff on legal and policy interpretation matters, engages with reinsurers on large or complex losses, and manages budget, staffing, and performance for the litigation organization.

What We're Looking For:

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in a state Bar Association required.
• Deep knowledge of the insurance industry with ability to evaluate injury claims, liability, policy interpretations and coverages.
• Significant trial experience, including managing cases through discovery and trial.
• Progressive leadership experience managing an internal legal department, including supervision and people management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and communicate complex legal and business issues clearly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with capacity to manage multiple priorities and teams concurrently.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
