Corporate Paralegal – Contracts and Legal Operations
Mauser Packaging Solutions See More Job Openings by This EmployerMauser Packaging Solutions is searching for a parttime Corporate Paralegal with at least 5+ years of experience to join its in-house Global Legal department interested in working approximately 10 hours per week. The Corporate Paralegal will handle a variety of work including legal entity maintenance, document and contract management, and other projects with a focus on records management and streamlining the contract review process and legal department operations. Reports directly to the General Counsel and is located in the corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing a database of legal entity data and organizational documents and maintaining a current legal entity organizational chart.
- Key participant in corporate projects to simplify legal entity structure, including assisting with entity management, formation and dissolution, as well as various annual requirements and communication with state agents.
- Provide contract support, including managing a database of contracts and assisting with contract review workflow and prioritization.
- Perform contract reviews, including drafting and redlining agreements (e.g., NDAs, vendor and customer contracts).
- Collaborate with legal department and cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives, corporate transactions, and M&A; assist with transaction due diligence.
- Provide support on litigation matters, including preparation of responses to discovery requests, subpoenas, and management of legal hold and eDiscovery activities.
- Provided support to colleagues in legal department for completion of tasks and general corporate legal matters.
- Processing invoices and managing electronic signatures.
- Act as a notary public for corporate office.
- Other duties as assigned by internal counsel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or ABA approved Paralegal Certificate.
- 5+ years of experience in an in-house legal department required.
- Ability to effectively track and manage multiple projects.
- Sense of urgency and respect for deadlines without compromising work quality.
- Experience with analyzing, drafting, reviewing, and managing complex legal documents, especially contracts.
- Extremely organized with strong project management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate at the highest level of discretion.
- Excellent skills in Database Management/Reporting and Microsoft Office, including Teams, Sharepoint and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with contract management systems a plus.
The hourly rate for this position will range from $30-35/hour. Exact rate offered will depend on candidate’s experience, work location, skills, etc.
