Real Estate Associate Attorney


Practice Area: Real Estate Transactions and Development

Location: Washington, DC 20006

Schedule: Hybrid; in-office presence required. Billable hour expectations not specified.

Salary: $265,000 - $ 310,000 per year

This position is open to support the firm’s ongoing expansion and consistent client demand in its real estate practice, particularly with high-caliber global investors and developers.

This is a rare opportunity to join a prestigious firm’s Real Estate practice, serving an impressive roster of foreign investors, developers, and institutional lenders. The role emphasizes a broad spectrum of transactional and development work, including drafting purchase and sale agreements, conducting diligence, negotiating finance documents, and structuring deals in complex industries like tech, industrial, multifamily, and even sports facilities.


You’ll work closely with seasoned partners and receive hands-on mentorship while contributing to high-profile, high-impact projects. The right candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment where initiative is rewarded and excellence is the standard. This role can open doors to partnership or in-house counsel roles with major clients over time.


What We’re Looking For:

  • 4–5 years of real estate transactional experience at a law firm
  • Proficiency with purchase/sale agreements, financing, and development documentation
  • Experience with title/survey review, and lender-side finance representation
  • Exposure to real estate joint ventures, leasing, and community or condo planning is a plus
  • Familiarity with economic incentive programs and tax credit structures helpful
  • Strong academic credentials from a respected law school
  • Excellent writing and client-facing communication skills
  • Proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Admission to the DC Bar (or eligibility for waiver/admission)
