Calibrate See More Job Openings by This EmployerWe are partnering with an Am Law 30 firm to recruit an Associate Director, Business Development to support the Mergers & Acquisitions, Executive Compensation and Tax practice groups. This position offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team, shape and execute strategic business development initiatives, and drive client targeting efforts that directly impact the firm’s growth. The right leader will bring a proactive, strategic, and energetic approach with a passion for building market-leading practices and elevating brand presence in a competitive landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with practice leaders, partners and directors to design and execute business development and marketing strategies that drive growth for the practice groups.
- Client Development: Drive key targeting, cross-selling, and relationship-building initiatives while leveraging competitive intelligence to identify and capture new market opportunities.
- Pitches and Proposals: Oversee the development of tailored proposals, pitch materials, and strategic communications that position the practice for success.
- Marketing and Visibility: Execute content-driven campaigns, seminars, events, and profile-raising initiatives to support business generation and enhance practice visibility and engagement.
- Operations and Oversight: Manage budgets, track industry trends, and ensure alignment of business development efforts with firmwide goals.
Credentials and Expertise:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing, law or business is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 12 years of business development and marketing experience is preferred, with at least 5 years of management experience in a corporate law firm setting or relevant industry setting is required. Prior experience in a Mergers & Acquisitions role, with a nuanced understanding of the firm’s practice areas and services, is required.
- Capabilities: Strong communication, writing, research, and analytical skills with advanced knowledge of marketing, legal concepts, and law firm operations.
