Corporate Counsel

Hero Practice Services is currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice to our leadership team and other staff members on a variety of legal topics that relate to our business operations. This position will report to the CEO.

Pay range: $170K-$190K DOE along with bonus opportunity

Job Responsibilities  

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements  
• Advise our operational partners on risk assessment of various company policies and procedures  
• Manage any third-party bodies such as auditors, state dental/optometry boards, and vendors to align with our mission 
• Partner with People Services team on employment law matters
• Promote best practices on legal, compliance, and risk management matters 
• Design, review, advise, and implement company policies and procedures 
• Ensure compliance with all laws governing our company 
• Stay up to date on healthcare-related law changes nationally and within Hero’s geographical footprint
• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children 

Job Qualifications  

• JD degree  
• At least five years of experience working in corporate counsel role
• At least five years of experience with legal advising
• Expertise with employment law
• Previous healthcare management experience a plus
• In-depth knowledge of administrative law, risk assessment, and problem solving 
• Strong organizational and time management skills 
• Demonstrated experience with arbitration and mediation 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills  
• Subject matter expert in healthcare and corporate governance 
• Licensure (or ability to be licensed) in some or all of the following states: CA, CO, DC, KS, MD, NM, OK

Salary

• $170,000 - $190,000
