The Paralegal works with the Consumer Financial Services litigation practice group and is assigned to specific client matters, projects, and/or attorney teams. There is an annual billing component to this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct research in online legal resource platforms, such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Analyze and summarize legal sources, such as case law, statutes, constitutions, legal journal articles, treatises, U.S. codes, and other law-related information relevant to practice area.
Conduct research and run reports in PACER and other online court platforms.
Work with litigation e-discovery and case management databases and perform certain functions, such as conducting searches, loading transcripts, and coding documents.
Assist with deposition preparation, including preparation of deposition notebooks.
Organize and maintain large matter files by accurately and timely saving correspondence, pleadings, discovery, court transcripts, and other case materials to the firm’s and/or client’s document management and/or collaboration platforms.
Collect, organize, and Bates stamp documents for production.
Review and analyze documents in large document productions.
Collect, organize, and index documents by category, subject matter, and/or chronological order.
Assist with trial preparation by drafting pretrial disclosures, organizing trial exhibits and notebooks, and assisting with onsite war room and courtroom logistics.
Retrieve public records from online resources or directly from government institutions.
Summarize depositions or other legal documents, as necessary.
Draft and prepare legal documents appropriate to practice area.
Perform paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by group leader and other attorneys in assigned substantive practice group.
Perform all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law.
Receive and follow complex instructions.
Take appropriate action to monitor and meet deadlines.
Establish priorities and work concurrently on a variety of projects.
Demonstrate good teamwork skills within and among practice groups, offices and firm to facilitate efficient delivery of legal services.
Participate in the training and professional development of other paralegals in routine practice elements.
Maintain the firm’s official matter file utilizing the document management system.
Track and record client-billable time and non-billable hours, meeting the firm’s minimum billable hour requirement.
Maintain and prioritize work responsibly and communicate if unable to meet daily responsibilities.

Ability to use sound judgment and good discretion.
Ability to effectively and professionally provide quality client service to both internal and external clients.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop skills.
Willingness and ability to accept changing assignments and priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with database file management systems, such as iManage and other records management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Excellent grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
Ability to work independently and use initiative in accomplishing routine assignments with minimum supervision.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred.

Hiring Salary Range:
- $85,000 - $105,000
