Legal Intern
As a summer intern you will get to collaborate with the Legal team while working on real projects that contribute to the growth of Rapid7. About the Team
The legal department at Rapid7 is lean and mean, supporting an entire organization with a handful of people who have to share responsibilities to constantly keep up with the business. The legal department is in charge of contract practices (including drafting, negotiation, and management of existing contractual relationships), privacy and data protection, intellectual property, export law, corporate governance, litigation, international legal issues, employment laws, regulatory matters and compliance.
In this role you will:
Learn how to support a large organization's commercial and corporate goals with day to day partnership, especially the negotiation and relationship lifecycle of large technology partnerships
Practice the art of translating complex legal requirements and advice into plain English, day-to-day practical guidance for non-lawyer business stakeholders
Understand how to manage the various legal relationships that exist with a company's customers, partners, vendors, employees, and shareholders
Observe and assist with corporate compliance initiatives and reporting requirements of a public company
Participate in additional opportunities in related projects, such as intellectual property, immigration, export, and employment lawWhat We Require:
The skills you’ll bring include:
Current enrollment in accredited law school
Strong academic performance
Interested in the transactional aspect of the law (contracts, corporate, IP, employment, immigration)
A strong work ethic balanced with a healthy sense of humor
