Job Description
The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups.
Duties This Supervisory Victim Witness Specialist serves as program manager and technical authority for the District's Victim Witness Assistance Program. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Supervisory Victim Witness Specialist support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of program analysis and oversight within the District.. Typical work assignments will include: Analyzes, evaluates, and administers comprehensive programs, projects, and support activities directly impacting the effectiveness of the District. Analyzes public reaction to Departmental programs and policies in developing recommendations that significantly modify the administration of the Victim Assistance Program. Develops and implements a comprehensive Victim Witness Assistance Program that provides support and assistance to victims and/or witnesses of crime. Conducts meetings and conferences for the purpose of obtaining public input on programs and issues. Plans, directs, and performs or supervises the Victim Witness Assistance Program operations within the District. Salary- $125,431 - $163,062/year
