PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for Legal Assistant duties including assisting attorneys or department managers in preparation of required legal documents, pleadings, drafts, or correspondence, and responding to client requests. Additionally, this Legal Assistant will be responsible for monitoring client management systems and tracking and updating the firm’s case management system, as well as answering inquiries via telephone or email, and providing other administrative support required for efficient department operation.
SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS:
This position is in-office, Monday-Friday, normal business hours.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Answer inquiries via telephone or email.
2. Provide responses to client inquiries.
3. Updating firm’s case management system and client websites.
4. Draft correspondence and pleadings used in the Bankruptcy Court.
5. Identify and request from the client any missing documents and/or data needed for the Bankruptcy action.
6. Filing approved pleadings in the Court’s electronic case system.
7. Perform additional duties as requested.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet/exceed priority deadlines.
- Must be PC literate and able to rapidly adapt to a variety of data base systems.
- Must exhibit professional communication skills (verbal and written).
