
Trial/Litigation Attorney
Title Resources Guaranty Company (“Title Resources”) is looking to add an experienced litigator to its California in-house litigation department. The ideal candidate will have “first chair” trial experience with a background in real estate litigation, title insurance and/or financial services. The attorney will be responsible for the competent, ethical, and diligent representation of Title Resources and its insureds in all assigned matters from inception of the litigation through appeal. The cases involve all aspects real estate title to include quiet title, easement and boundary rights, probate matters, secured transactions, lien priorities, contracts, taxes bankruptcy and escrow matters.
Essential Job Functions
• Handles litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established by the Claims Department.
• Handles motions, arbitrations, bench trials, and jury trials commensurate with level of experience, including preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs, attendance at hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations and trials, and performance of any other tasks or duties necessary for the proper representation of clients. Maintains and updates computerized litigation support system for assigned caseloads.
• Promotes the ethical and professional practice of law while interacting with Title Resources’ Team Players, clients, litigants, members of the bar, members of the judiciary and their staff, and all others, while engaged in the practice of law on behalf of clients and Title Resources.
• Performs other functions as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School
• An active member and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Detailed knowledge of California civil litigation practice, including local and state discovery rules, trial procedures and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience.
Other Desired Qualifications
• An active member and in good standing to practice law in any of the following additional jurisdictions is a plus: Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Colorado, or Texas.

• Other than authorized and pro bono work, incumbents are not permitted to handle any legal business outside of the Company and candidates must cease all outside practice and all suit involvement before joining Title Resources.
• The candidate for this position must be located in California or Arizona.
