Job Summary:
As a Software Developer at WealthCounsel, you will have the chance to collaborate closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to create high-quality software applications that meet client needs. You will help with architecting, designing, and implementing moderately complex software systems.
As a Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the following:
- Participate in the design and architecture of software solutions that align with project requirements and business goals.
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code using a variety of programming languages and technologies, such as JavaScript, Vue.js, and XQuery, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Work closely with a variety of team members to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and thoroughly tested software applications.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, offering feedback and promoting best practices to elevate the team's coding standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve development processes.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:
Competencies:
- Strong skills in engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, web technology, and programming methodology
- Solid understanding of systems and subsystems
- Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable software, computer languages, and code to perform the responsibilities of the role
- Demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of equivalent work experience in software development, ideally with expertise in JavaScript, Typescript, Python or other programming languages
- Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions
- Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle technical challenges.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical concepts
- Experience with agile methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and code review processes
- Experience working with SQL and NoSql Databases
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
- Experience in developing AWS native applications
Work Environment and Company Benefits:
This is a virtual, full-time position. You will work remotely from your home office, and occasional travel may be required for meetings, trade shows and training.

Salary:
The salary range listed reflects the total on target earnings for this position (base salary plus bonus).
