SUMMARY:
As the Jr. Legal Counsel, you will partner closely with the global legal team to review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements for all companies within OAG and assist other members of the team on various other commercial legal matters as needed.
This position is based in our downtown Chicago office and currently requires a minimum of two in-office days per week, with flexibility based on team and business needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Reviewing, negotiating and/or approving a range of agreements across the entire business, principally sales (including new contracts, renewals, addendums, and RFPs/tenders), but also non-disclosure (NDAs), supplier, IT, marketing and finance agreements
- Assisting in the training of Sales teams regarding the contracting process and procedures
- Updating Salesforce with agreed custom terms and conditions and help ensure signed agreements are sent to Legal and filed in the contract management system
- Assisting in the Company’s global compliance activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the Illinois bar and in good standing.
- Relevant commercial contract experience, preferably in-house with a global company
- Solid analytical skills and high attention to details; willingness to ask questions
- Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines and clients’ expectations
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work with colleagues internally at all levels within the Company
- Awareness of and commitment to confidential nature of the Legal team’s work and responsibilities

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a bonus in line with the current bonus plan.
