The Mecklenburg County Clerk of Superior Court seeks a highly skilled human resources (HR) professional to support employee relations, policies, and practices that foster organizational growth and success. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in human resources, encompassing onboarding, exit interviews, team restructuring, and conflict resolution. As a key representative of our organizational culture, the HR professional will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to enhancing employee performance, and a dedication to cultivating a positive work environment.Objectives of This Role:
- Develop, implement, and maintain employee processes and procedures utilizing appropriate documentation. - Ensure the ongoing management of employee data, facilitate new-hire onboarding and oversee organizational change initiatives.
- Manage data and file processes related to new hires and terminations.
- Continuously enhance processes to improve the management and accessibility of critical analytical data.
- Coordinate new-hire orientation and logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, and the compilation of checklists for all mandatory tasks.
- Provide support to staff members regarding HR-related concerns, including compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition, vacation, misconduct issues, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain HR records and employee files in accordance with relevant regulations and policies.
New hires may be paid above the minimum rate depending on education and experience in a North Carolina Clerk of Superior Court office.
Salary- $36,315 - $45,567/year
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Knowledge of: NC general statutes; policies and procedures related to the local judicial district; civil proceedings and the Civil Case Processing System (VCAP); juvenile proceedings; Juvenile Case Tracking/Scheduling System (JWISE); eWarrants; eCourts; Odyssey Enterprise Justice, and general office and clerical procedures.
Skills in: basic math; active listening; managing a high volume of public interaction; effectively communicating both verbally and in writing; fast, accurate data entry; and MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to: read and comprehend legal documents; interact diplomatically with a diverse group of people; multi-task; adjust to unexpected events; meet deadlines; organize and manage files; work independently; maintain confidentiality; and provide procedural information without giving legal advice.
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 18 years of age. Mecklenburg County residents preferred.
Management Preferences:
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a strong ethical orientation.
- Proficient problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Familiarity with HR laws.
- Bachelor's degree with at least 1-2 years of HR generalist experience.
