Description

We are seeking a Legal Nurse Consultant to assist our attorneys in the day-to-day evaluation and prosecution of medical malpractice claims with potential involvement in other personal injury claims and medical product liability claims. Training will be on the job and provided by our attorneys and our senior legal nurse consultant from our Rochester office. This LNC position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with attorneys in personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, general negligence, and wrongful death cases.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluation of negligence, causation, and damages across diverse medical and surgical specialties.
  • Conduct research for case development and strategy.
  • Document and case summarization.
  • Review and investigate potential claims and make recommendations based on case facts and current medical literature.
  • Efficiently manage competing priorities and deadlines of multiple ongoing cases.
  • Present case analyses to legal teams, effectively communicating key medical findings and research and their relevance to legal strategy.
  • Identify and engage with medical experts for case consultation and trial testimony.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of attorneys, medical experts, and Faraci Lange staff to develop comprehensive case strategies.
  • Draft medical sections of legal documents.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations,      and trial preparation.

Job Type: 

· Full-time preferred but will consider part-time candidates based on qualifications

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in nursing

· Strong analytical skills

· Extensive (5 years +) clinical experience in hospital setting

· Excellent expressive and receptive communication skills, both verbal and written

· Ability to research, learn, understand, and effectively convey complex medical concepts 

· Team-oriented, positive, independent, and motivated

· Basic computer skills: Outlook, Word, Adobe Acrobat

· Strong medical literature research and analysis skills


Preferred Qualifications (not required):

· Prior Legal Nurse Consulting experience

· Additional computer/program skills: Excel, SmartAdvocate, WestLaw, CaseFleet, AI applications

Salary Description
$65,000 - $95,000 dep on experience and hours
