Title: Global Contracts Chief Counsel – NAMER
Location: Atlanta, GA
Model of work: office-based position
Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team as the Global Contracts Chief Counsel and play a pivotal role in onboarding enterprise customers and negotiating high-stakes transactions. You'll be at the forefront of supporting strategic initiatives for new customer sales engagements. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating contracts for SAAS software licenses, cloud services, and technology agreements. You'll also provide legal advice to executive management, build trusted relationships with business teams, and proactively identify solutions to mitigate legal risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate enterprise customer sales, services, licensing, and related agreements.
- Legal Advisory: Offer expert advice on contract interpretation and other legal matters to business clients.
- Guidance: Provide focused legal guidance to contract managers on escalated issues.
- Risk Management: Advise executive management on legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Legal Analysis: Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations affecting the business, offering practical advice.
- Coordination: Collaborate with outside counsel as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: JD from a well-regarded law school.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years in commercial/transactional law, with at least 5 years in the technology sector. A mix of law firm and in-house experience is ideal.
- Expertise: Knowledge of SAAS contracts and commercial contract laws within the technology industry, ideally in the retail and restaurant markets. Also, needs familiarity with privacy laws and cybersecurity matters, and how those areas interface with businesses.
- Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong writing abilities, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility: Ability to work under tight deadlines and outside normal working hours with minimal advance notice and minimal supervision.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (20-25%).
- Interpersonal Skills: Confidence in client and customer-facing situations, presenting a professional image with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to process conceptually in complex, new situations and communicate ideas both internally and externally.
