Job Title: Chief Team Lead Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (4345-31)
Division: Felony - Team 5
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Starting Salary: $135,036.00 Annually: Additional compensation may be considered based on experience.
FLSA: Salary Exempt
Job Overview: Chief Team Lead Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys are assigned to the Common Pleas Court for Hamilton County, Ohio. They are responsible for supervising the Asst. Team Leader, and the three Room Assistants assigned to their team. A Chief Team Lead must be able to instruct and assist members of their team in the handling of their daily dockets. They must also be able to organize and instruct team meetings and other team activities. A Chief Team Lead must also be able to litigate more complex cases, such as sex crimes and homicides, in all aspects, including motion practice, bench trials, and jury trials.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Preparing complex/serious felony cases.
- Litigating complex/serious felony cases including homicides.
- Managing a team of four attorneys, including schedules.
- Training associate attorneys in pretrial and trial practice.
- Communicate issues and strategies with supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in prosecuting cases.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Ability to comfortably appear and argue matters before Ohio courts.
- Critical thinking and decision making skills.
- Fairness, strong work ethic, and high integrity.
- Knowledge and ability to use LexisNexis for legal research.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Outlook.
- Detail oriented, flexible and quick thinking, and ability to quickly learn new tasks.
- Good time management, with an ability to prioritize job duties to ensure accurate and timely completion of responsibilities.
- Ability to conduct business in accordance within State and Federal statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to perform all other duties assigned, delegated, or required of the Assistant Prosecuting attorney, as well as those prescribed by law.
