
- THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), an independent state agency with more than $3 billion sales yearly, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to serve as an Attorney 4, Supervisory within the Office of Chief Counsel. If you have strong litigation experience and/or experience handling liquor licensing matters, the PLCB wants to talk to you!
- DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position performs responsible professional legal work, mostly in the field of contracts, in support of the PLCB and reports to the Chief Counsel or Executive Deputy Chief Counsel. Work includes assigning and reviewing work of several staff attorneys, mostly in the areas of contracts and business operations; supervising and handling contracts and procurements multiple business areas including, but not limited to, supply chain, marketing and information technology. You will be expected to act as an agency liaison with outside contract signatories; advising the Board, Chief Counsel, Executive Deputy Chief Counsel, and agency executives on relevant matters and handle other assigned duties. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week, with two days per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Seven years of professional legal experience, and graduation from an accredited school of law; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Post Employment Requirement:
- Applicants must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and must maintain membership on a continuous basis during employment.
Preferred Qualification (not required):
- Commonwealth procurement and contracting experience.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
