Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate, Training and Agent Standards, Location negotiable after selection in one of the following locations: Detroit, Michigan El Paso, Texas Selfridge ANGB, Michigan Yuma, Arizona Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
Duties Joining the Customs and Border Protection, United States Border Patrol will allow you to use your expertise to provide legal support to those executing law enforcement duties. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen homeland security by performing paralegal activities such as reviewing and finalizing claims, preparing cases, and coordinating the work of a paralegal team. This position starts at a salary of $105,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $137,000.00 (GS-13, Step 10). Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection. In this Paralegal Specialist position, you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals providing key legal support to those conducting law enforcement duties. Typical work assignments include: Providing guidance to paralegals to ensure nationwide case management compliance Providing training regarding Seized Asset Management and Enforcement Procedures Handbook (SAMEPH) policy updates Advising Fines, Penalties, and Forfeiture Administrators on policy and procedures related to forfeiture Consulting with Office of Chief Counsel on policies, procedures and litigation risks associated with forfeiture Salary- $105,383 - $137,000/year
