DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Legal Assistant 2, you will administer the Citation Program for the Prosecution Division in the Professional Compliance Office (PCO), located in the Bureau Professional and Occupational Affairs' (BPOA). Your work ensures citations issued by the bureau's dedicated inspectors, investigators, and prosecutorial staff for various minor infractions are in compliance with the Citation Program parameters. This involves reviewing and analyzing each citation for accuracy, consistency, and appropriate requirements; identifying errors and discrepancies; as well as determining and applying the necessary corrective actions while consulting with senior legal staff or supervisors in non-routine instances. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Processing notification documents and tracking incoming payments
  • Assigning hearing cases to prosecuting attorneys
  • Reviewing orders issued by Hearing Examiners for discrepancies
  • Closing citation files in the computer and entering discipline in the bureau's case management system

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after 6 months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
