GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you’ll contribute:
Paralegal will assist the Florida Hospital West Florida Region Legal Services Department ("Department"). Performs secretarial duties and paralegal functions for designated attorneys, updating files, preparing contracts, reviewing documents, and giving legal assistance to the attorneys in the Department. Thorough understanding of the attorney's job role within organization, work style, preferences and reporting protocol. Schedules appointments and coordinates arrangements for meetings, conferences and travel. Prepares routine and non-routine reports including gathering and summarizing data. Establishes and maintains highly confidential files and records. Composes and types letters and correspondence, drafts legal documents. Knowledge of organizational policy and procedures and departmental operations. Additional responsibilities as necessary to support the role of their supervisor. Legal Assistant and Paralegal to Legal Services Department; Meets minimum requirements; Has 5-8 years' experience in legal field; has 0-3 years' experience in healthcare law or litigation either as legal secretary or legal assistant; and Demonstrates professional skills (organization effective planning, problem solving and analytical skills), as well as knowledge of Hospital operations and Healthcare law.

· Responsible for attorneys’ calendar maintenance, sets up appointments as requested/required.
· Receives, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls.
· Maintains tickler calendar, including court and filing deadlines for legal department.
· Drafts various agreements, including physician employment agreements and leases, as requested by Legal Department.
· Drafts/revises organizational documents, including articles of incorporation, bylaws.
· Coordinates and monitors compliance with records retention requirements of “litigation hold” rules.
· Drafts and effects filing of statement of intent to dissolve, articles of dissolution, or other required state forms to effect dissolution.
