Job Description

11th August, 2026

Legal Counsel

Most in-house counsel roles hand you a narrow lane. This one hands you the whole legal function. You'd step in as the organization's primary legal advisor, working shoulder-to-shoulder with executive leadership, HR, Finance, and Operations — not reviewing decisions after they're made, but shaping them.
One day you're advising HR through a sensitive workplace investigation. The next you're negotiating a vendor contract, directing the response to a regulatory inquiry, or briefing leadership on risk ahead of a strategic move. If you want a role where no two weeks look the same and your judgment actually carries weight in the room, this is it.

Why This Opportunity Is Different
Unlike roles where legal is siloed or buried several layers from decision-makers, this position reports directly into senior HR leadership and sits at the table for strategic conversations — acquisitions, restructuring, risk calls. You'll have real autonomy over how legal matters are handled, genuine variety across disciplines (employment, litigation, immigration, contracts, governance, IP), and the stability of being the trusted internal advisor rather than one of several outside firms competing for attention.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Advising HR on employee relations, investigations, accommodations, reductions in force, and leave administration
  • Keeping the organization ahead of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, NLRA, and Title VII obligations
  • Managing litigation, employment claims, and commercial disputes, and directing outside counsel
  • Leading the response to government audits, investigations, and subpoenas
  • Overseeing employment-based immigration programs and visa/permanent residency matters
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, NDAs, vendor and customer agreements, leases, and settlements
  • Maintaining corporate governance records and filings
  • Advising executive leadership on legal strategy, risk, and strategic initiatives
  • Building out legal and compliance training for leadership and staff
  • Guiding intellectual property protection and confidentiality practices
What We're Looking For
  • 3–5 years of experience in corporate legal counsel work, with hands-on litigation and commercial contract management
  • Strong grasp of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to advise executives and balance legal risk against business goals
  • Sharp analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to translate legal complexity for non-legal audiences
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
  • High integrity, professionalism, and discretion
Compensation & Work Model
$150,000 annually. Onsite, in a professional office environment.
Location & Travel
Nashville, TN.
