Senior Legal Counsel (Part-Time)

About the role:
As the first US legal hire in the company, you’ll have an amazing opportunity to support the development of the legal function and shape the future of the business! We’re looking for a strategic, passionate, and practical attorney to support commercial discussions, product launches, corporate matters, and employment issues on a part-time basis. This role will form one half of a job share with our UK based Senior Legal Counsel.
While this is a generalist role, you should have strong experience with commercial law. This role will be key in supporting Runa’s strategic vision through a legal and compliance lens.
Below are some examples of things you’ll get to own:
Commercial law, crafting and negotiating all commercial agreements.
Researching industry-specific legal and/or compliance aspects as they arise, particularly in the payments and financially regulated industries.
Legal sign-off on product releases including data privacy checks, in partnership with Security, Product, and Finance.
Corporate law activities such as financing transactions and new entity setups.
Employment law, options program management.
Company secretary and governance activities.

What Excites Us
Licensed attorney with equivalent of 4+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in the US legal market, ideally in a payments or financially regulated business.
