NetApp is seeking a Director, Legal to serve as the senior legal business partner for its Go-to-Market, Public Cloud, Marketing, and Customer Success organizations. This high-impact leadership role provides strategic, business-oriented legal guidance to enable growth and manage risk across NetApp’s global, partner-driven, cloud-enabled technology business.
Reporting to the Vice President, Field Legal, the Director leads a team of four U.S.-based attorneys and collaborates closely with senior leaders across Sales, Partners, Marketing, Customer Support, Professional Services, Finance, Deal Desk, and other cross-functional teams. The role encompasses legal support for global go-to-market strategy, revenue execution, partner programs, public cloud and consumption-based offerings, complex commercial transactions, and marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating technology agreements, advising on risk and compliance, supporting customer success and professional services, and driving consistency and efficiency through legal process improvements and automation.
The ideal candidate brings a Juris Doctor (JD), active U.S. state bar membership, and at least 12 years of legal experience, including substantial in-house experience at a technology company. Deep expertise in commercial, cloud, SaaS, and services-related technology transactions, proven leadership of legal professionals, and strong business judgment are essential. Experience supporting global, partner-driven go-to-market models is strongly preferred.
