1st shift (United States of America)Please review the following job description:Utilize advanced knowledge of the law, legal processes, and management skills to assist attorneys in one or more of the following substantive legal areas: contracts (non-standard client agreements, RFPs, NDAs, etc.), regulatory, litigation, complaints / pre-litigation disputes, governance, and digital / marketing. This is a new role and the hired candidate will be the sole paralegal supporting five (5) attorneys on Truist’s Payments Legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential duties and responsibilities for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Contract and Agreement Support: Serve as the central intake point for legal requests from business partners. Conduct preliminary review of contracts, requests for non-standard client agreements, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and other legal agreements. Based on general guidance provided by attorneys, propose initial edits / recommendations and communicate effectively with business partners to ensure outstanding issues and questions are addressed or escalated to attorneys, as needed.
2. Legal File Management: Establish and maintain a well-organized system for storing and managing the Payments Team's electronic legal files, ensuring easy access and retrieval of critical documents.
3. Marketing and Client Materials Review: Assist attorneys in reviewing marketing collateral, website content, and other client-facing materials to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Legal/Regulatory Tracking and Updates: Monitor external legal and regulatory developments relevant to the banking industry and payments business. Assist attorneys with preparing concise and informative quarterly update summaries for distribution to business partners, highlighting key changes and potential impacts.
5. General Legal Assistance: Provide a range of paralegal support to the Payments Team attorneys, including legal research, document preparation, and other administrative tasks as needed.
6. Consistently resolve highly complex issues, transactions, or projects where exceptional professional expertise is required to apply law, regulation, policies, and guidelines.
7. Investigate facts of a substantial volume of varying or highly complex matters, cases, or transactions, including by interviews with clients or witnesses. Organize, review, and analyze large volumes of detailed information.
8. Perform advanced legal research, apply results to facts, and develop and communicate legal conclusions.
9. Design, maintain, train, and/or manage one or more Legal Department workflow processes, reports, tools, and databases. Consistently display leadership skills in executing on team priorities and bringing forth solutions to issues raised, as well as shouldering additional responsibilities.
10. Interact on a professional level with other departments, internal and external clients, outside counsel, vendors, and others, including to senior managers and executives.
11. Consistently display exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in an American Bar Association approved curriculum or equivalent education; or successful completion of an American Bar Association approved paralegal training program; or certification by a State Bar approved paralegal certification program; or prior experience working as a paralegal or equivalent professional experience
2. Ten or more years of related legal or financial experience
3. Advanced understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures
4. Exceptional analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify and define issues, establish facts, analyze highly complex information, and develop substantiated conclusions with minimal supervision
5. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to express highly complex facts and legal principles clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
6. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of legal research and writing with demonstrated proficiency in online legal research
7. Creative problem-solving skills with ability to identify and resolve highly complex problems in a timely manner seeking input of others as needed
8. Exceptional leadership and relationship management skills with the ability to positively influence others across multiple practice groups and department and achieve desired results
9. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet competing deadlines
10. Ability to manage numerous complex projects that require interaction with multiple attorneys' departments, and internal and external clients, including senior managers and executives
11. Exceptional organizational and project management skills; attention to detail and accuracy
12. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certified Legal Assistant designation or have passed the Paralegal Advanced Competency Examination
