What You Will Do
We are seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This role will focus on providing legal analysis and support on privacy issues with a particular emphasis on California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance. The role will also provide legal support for all other areas of our business operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in privacy and data protection laws and the versatility to address and effectively communicate on a wide range of legal matters across a diverse audience, from contract negotiation to litigation oversight.

How You Will Make a Difference:
- You will serve as a subject matter expert on privacy laws, including CCPA and HIPAA, offering actionable, business-savvy guidance.
- You will draft, amend, and maintain internal privacy-related policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate data inventory/mapping of systems and processes; maintain records of data processing activities.
- You will review and monitor third-party service providers’ privacy practices; ensure contracts include appropriate compliance obligations.
- You will maintain up-to-date consumer-facing privacy notices, disclosures, and consent forms.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and deliver employee training programs on privacy and data protection.
- You will advise and support business units on all legal matters, including privacy, employment, real estate, corporate governance, and other areas as needed.
- You will identify potential legal issues related to business practices and policies; provide proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- You will assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts, ensuring alignment with business goals and legal requirements.

Must Haves:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Membership in the State Bar of California or Arizona.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on privacy and data protection.
- Knowledge of CCPA, HIPAA, and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.
- Experience in other areas of law including, but not limited to, employment, labor, real estate, corporate governance, food safety/labeling, advertising/marketing, and contract negotiation is preferred, but an ability and willingness to effectively learn other areas of law is essential.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
Work is performed on-site in a business office environment. Occasional travel to store or facility locations for off-site meetings.
