Managing Director of Assurance
Freeman Mathis & Gary is a dynamic and growing 375+ lawyer national litigation firm, with thirty-seven offices in twenty-one states. We are seeking a Managing Director of Assurance with experience in a claims management role in the insurance industry to join our growing Atlanta, Georgia office.
As the Firm’s Managing Director of FMG Assurance, you will be responsible for a broad range of responsibilities including the oversight and strategic direction of the Assurance Program, which supports the relationship between insurance industry clients and the firm. This includes ensuring attorney compliance with client guidelines and firm best practices, building and maintaining business relationships with current and prospective clients, recommending targets for potential growth, and driving development, maintenance and execution of business campaigns. You will function as an advisory specialist to management and the firm’s clients.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance carrier clients, addressing their needs and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.
- Monitor and oversee client accounts, ensuring timely delivery of services.
- Coordinate regular updates and meetings with clients to discuss their needs, feedback, and any potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and resolve client issues, collaborating with internal teams to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments in insurance and legal services to provide valuable insights to clients and stakeholders within the firm.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new clients into the Assurance Program, ensuring a smooth transition and clear understanding of our firm’s services and processes.
- Prepare and present regular reports on client status, service delivery, and satisfaction levels to the Managing Partner and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the quality assurance function, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits to assess and improve service delivery standards, ensuring all corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Identify training needs within the firm and develop training programs to enhance staff competencies and service delivery.
- Oversee the implementation of internal and external training programs, ensuring alignment with the firm's goals and client requirements.
- Lead all Assurance Department staff which includes performance management, recruiting, and development.
- Occasional travel is required to meet the needs of clients and develop relationships
- Other tasks as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Juris Doctorate required with a minimum of 5 years in a claims management role in the insurance industry
- Experience leading a team or department is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of legal processes and the insurance industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Pro-active, follows through with minimum direction, and displays initiative
- Adaptable to changing priorities and work demands
- Experience in quality assurance, audit processes
- Experience with training program development a plus
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
