Join our Litigation Team as a Paralegal located in our Florham Park, New Jersey office.

This role will be based in our Florham Park, New Jersey office, on a hybrid basis.  Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building.  

Position Summary

The Paralegal provides assistance to litigation attorneys and paralegals, primarily in the area of day-to-day operations, as well as discovery and trial.  This role will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • E-Filing in NJ State and Federal Courts, NY State and Federal Courts, and Bankruptcy.

  • Prepare document productions

  • Proofreads briefs and other legal documents

  • Drafts routine correspondence/memorandum and discovery requests/responses

  • Maintains case and document databases, updates files

  • Basic document review and light research

  • Conducts review of parties' discovery including preparation of subpoenas and related motions

  • Factual research and development, utilizing electronic research tools and in some cases working with vendors

  • Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation

  • Ability to prioritize workload, adapt to a fast-paced environment

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization

Education & Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Certificate in Paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered

  • Certified Paralegal a plus

  • 2 - 5 years of litigation experience; law firm experience is preferred

Technology:

  • E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity, DISCO, and Live Note preferred

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel,  Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Exceptional computer and internet research skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly

The expected pay range for this position is:

$38.46 to $46.70 per hour

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.  Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
