ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Identifies, organizes, and sorts legal paperwork.
Researches and provides a follow-through response to problems.
Inputs data into a computer system.
Researches and verifies completeness and accuracy of specific information.
Verifies the quality of each scanned document.
Performs research on a variety of issues related to legal documentation and case filings.
Retrieves and delivers files.
Prepares files for court calendars.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all work-related activities.
Operates various types of office equipment.
May perform tasks such as typing, filing, data entry, word processing, and file delivery.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
English composition, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Office practices and procedures.
Basic computer skills.
Basic filing skills.
Basic quality control skills.
Skills and Abilities:
Work quickly, accurately and switch focus between multiple tasks.
Follow brief oral and written instructions quickly and accurately.
Work with an automated system.
Operate or learn a variety of office machines: fax, photocopier, and scanners.
Plan and coordinate activities to meet time restraints.
Effectively interact with other court personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. certificate.
Ability to pass a clerical skills assessment via TestGenius, covering typing (25 wpm), data entry, and written communication. Instructions and testing links will be provided to qualified applicants via email.

None required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Lifting of 25 to 35 lbs. is required in some assignments. This position entails lifting, bending, standing, etc., for extended periods of time. Typically performs duties in an office environment.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a court-classified position that reports to the Legal Records Deputy Court Clerk Supervisor. This position performs duties under direct supervision.

Upon yearly anniversary, 56 hours of sick time accrued, less usage, may be rolled over to vacation time.
