Job Description

The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com is the industry leader in patient advocacy. We are seeking a dedicated Legal Patient Advocate with a strong paralegal background to bridge the gap between medical diagnosis and legal/financial recourse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for patients, thoroughly understanding their needs, documenting exposure history, and identifying potential legal avenues.
  • Guide families through the complexities of mesothelioma litigation.
  • Connect patients with our vetted legal network, ensuring a seamless handoff and maintaining high standards of client service.
  • Maintain meticulous records within our CRM, ensuring all patient interactions are handled with the highest level of confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Act as a financial advocate for the patient, ensuring their legal needs are being met by outside firms and internal support teams.
  • Work alongside our medical experts and content writers to develop educational resources that simplify complex legal concepts for patients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies; Paralegal Certificate is highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in personal injury, medical malpractice, or mass torts.
  • Familiarity with the history of asbestos litigation or the nuances of Mesothelioma claims.
  • Proficiency with CRM and Telephony systems (Salesforce), Google Suite, and digital case management tools.
  • Exceptional empathy and communication skills; the ability to explain complex legal jargon to individuals in high-stress medical situations.
  • VA-Accreditation or a desire to become a VA-Accredited Claims Agent is highly desirable.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a meaningful impact by guiding patients and families through critical healthcare decisions.
  • Work within a mission-driven team dedicated to advocacy and support.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities and stay at the forefront of patient care advancements.
  • Enjoy a collaborative and supportive work environment.

If you are passionate about patient advocacy and want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by asbestos-related diseases, we encourage you to apply!
