Are you a visual storyteller with a passion for creating compelling multimedia content? The Harris County Attorney’s Office (HCAO) is seeking a Multimedia Communications Coordinator to join our Communications and Outreach Division. The Harris County Attorney is the chief civil legal officer for Harris County. Our office represents the County, elected officials, and employees in legal matters and works on behalf of the residents through strategic litigation and enforcement of laws that protect the public.


This role offers a unique opportunity to help tell the story of our work through impactful imagery and video. From filming press conferences to creating digital campaigns, you’ll help us elevate the visibility of our office and connect with the community. This position reports to the Communications Manager and plays a key role in advancing the mission and initiatives of HCAO through strategic multimedia storytelling. This position may oversee interns.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Capture and edit high-quality video and photography to highlight the office’s work, initiatives, and events.
  • Develop and manage multimedia projects from concept to completion, including storyboarding, scripting, and content planning.
  • Maintain an organized and secure digital asset library of photo, video, and creative files.
  • Manage a content calendar in coordination with the Communications team; schedule and publish content across social media platforms.
  • Support live event coverage, including livestreaming press conferences, community events, and major announcements.
  • Collaborate on the development of digital campaigns, including graphics, social media assets, and printed materials such as flyers and brochures.
  • Assist in upholding brand consistency across all visual communications.
  • Contribute to overall Communications and Outreach Division efforts, including event support and internal communications.

Requirements

Supporting Job Application Documents:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience with shooting, editing, and producing content.
    • An Associate Degree may be substituted for additional experience.
  • Experience shooting, editing, and producing video and photo content as well as lighting and camera equipment.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in relevant positions where similar skills were utilized.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) and content optimization for each.
  • Ability to attend events that occur outside of typical working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferences

  • A sincere interest in public service and/or local government.

  • Experience or interest in working with diverse communities.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator) or other comparable editing software.

General Information

Located in downtown Houston, the Harris County Attorney’s Office represents Harris County government, the Harris County Flood Control District, the Harris County Toll Road Authority, and the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network in all civil matters, including lawsuits. The office also provides legal advice to county officials and employees.

 

Position Type and Typical Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time position. 

  • Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, however work hours may vary depending on departmental needs.


Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • This job typically operates in a professional office environment, and the attorney in this role uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners/copiers, and phones.

  • This is largely a sedentary role, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.




Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
