Description

As a General Counsel, Procurement/ISC/Global Real Estate within the Commercial Law organization, you will provide strategic leadership for the procurement contracting function, overseeing contract strategy, governance, standardization, and automation to support business growth while effectively managing risk. You will also lead legal and contracting support for the Global Real Estate (GRE) and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organizations, in each case leading a team of contracts professionals and partnering closely with Procurement, ISC, GRE, Regional and Business Unit Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to enable efficient, compliant, and commercially sound agreements.

In this role, you will also drive modernization of the contracting function by leveraging AI and advanced analytics to enhance contract lifecycle management, risk assessment, contracting tools and templates and operational efficiency. Your leadership will directly impact revenue enablement, contract quality, and business performance.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Contract Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement contract strategies, policies, templates, tools and standard terms aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements 
  • Oversee the negotiation, review, and execution of procurement contracts and other commercial agreements with a focus on standardization and automation of contracting processes
  • Partner with Procurement, ISC and GRE leadership to support deal structuring and negotiation strategy 

People Leadership & Organizational Capability

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of contracts professionals and attorneys 
  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, dashboards and governance standards
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and hiring strategies to build organizational capability
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

AI-Driven Contracting & Digital Transformation

  • Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline contract review, clause analysis, and lifecycle management
  • Implement AI-powered contract analytics to improve risk identification, compliance monitoring, and decision-making
  • Partner with technology teams to enhance contract management systems (CLM) with predictive insights and automation
  • Enable team adoption of data-driven contracting practices and digital tools

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Procurement, ISC and GRE, Legal, Finance, Credit, and Operations to resolve contractual issues and manage risk 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor  on commercial terms, risk exposure, and contracting best practices 
  • Ensure alignment between contracting strategies and broader business and operational objectives

Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure adherence to contracting policies, approval authorities, and governance processes 
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract processes, tools, and metrics to increase efficiency and reduce cycle time 
  • Establish metrics to track contract performance, risk trends, and operational effectiveness


Qualifications

You Must Have

  • 8+ years of experience in contracting, contract negotiation, or related commercial/legal roles 
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contract law, terms and conditions, and risk management 
  • Experience using or implementing AI/automation in contract lifecycle management (CLM)
  • Strong understanding of digital contracting tools and analytics platforms
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating  high-value contracts 
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
