Ansell is looking for a Lead Counsel Corporate Affairs to join our team in Iselin, NJ!

 

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $225,000 U.S. Dollars per year.

 Specific pricing for this role may vary within this range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Candidate may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.

 

In this position you will play a vital role in leading the intersection of law and global business strategy. As Lead Counsel, Corporate Affairs, you'll be the trusted legal advisor to Ansell’s Global Corporate Functions, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of a world-leading company in protection solutions.

In this high-impact position, you’ll provide strategic, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal counsel that supports key business decisions and drives innovation. Acting as the single point of contact for corporate legal matters, you'll ensure legal excellence while enabling our teams to move forward with confidence and clarity. In this high-impact role, you will be the company’s go-to lawyer for complex corporate transactions and a trusted advisor to senior leadership. You will drive Ansell’s strategic growth by leading global mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures, while also supporting core corporate functions.

What your role will be?

  • Lead all legal aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, execution, and post-closing integration

  • Draft, review, and negotiate key transaction documents, including NDAs, term sheets, purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and transition services agreements

  • Partner with Finance, Tax, HR, Compliance, and Operations to assess risk and align with business objectives

  • Advise senior leadership on deal strategy, risk allocation, and regulatory issues such as antitrust, foreign investment, and securities laws

  • Manage external counsel to ensure cost-effective, high-quality legal support on global transactions

  • Support corporate governance and board-related matters connected to strategic deals

  • Develop and refine M&A playbooks, templates, and best practices to streamline execution

  • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal support to HR, Finance, and IT functions

  • Contribute to crisis management and reputational risk mitigation strategies

 

What will you bring to Ansell?

  • Juris Doctor (or equivalent) from a recognized law school; admission to the New Jersey bar (or eligibility for limited in-house license)

  • 7+ years of M&A experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel exposure

  • Proven record leading cross-border transactions in complex, international (B2B) environments

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Business-oriented judgment and practical problem-solving ability, with the confidence to counsel senior management directly

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally while thriving in a fast-paced, global setting

  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Technological proficiency, including experience with CLM systems and Microsoft Office
