2026 Undergraduate Summer Intern – Job Posting

Department Title: Legal Intern – Estate Administration

Please read before applying:

EligibilityThis internship is for law students only. Candidates must be currently enrolled in law school as 1L or 2L, with a demonstrated interest in trusts and estates.

Start Date: All interns must start in office and in person on June 8, 2026.

Anticipated End Date: August 14, 2026 – All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment. Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back.

Position Summary: 

The Estate Administration team manages the settlement of complex estates and terminating trusts.  Our work involves high-value estates, often with unique assets such as real estate and world-class art collections.  We also coordinate the preparation, review and filing of estate, gift and income tax returns, ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulations and standards. 

  • Our team plays a critical role in protecting client legacies and delivering exceptional fiduciary service.
  • Current initiatives include preparing for future high-profile matters and enhancing estate settlement processes.
  • You’ll gain hands-on exposure to trust and estate law and complex asset management, including the management and sale of real and tangible personal property.

An intern in this department can expect to learn:

  • Fundamentals of estate settlement and trusts and estates law.
  • How to navigate complex legal and tax issues in estate administration.
  • Best practices for compliance, risk management, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities Can Include:

  • Assisting with legal research on estate and trust matters.
  • Drafting and reviewing estate-related documents.
  • Supporting estate officers and associates in the administration complex estates, including those with unique assets like art collections.
  • Attending client meetings and potentially offsite visits to estate-owned properties.
  • Collaborating with internal colleagues as well as outside professionals, like trusts and estates attorneys, accountants, appraisers, and auction house professionals

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in law school as 1L or 2L, with a demonstrated interest in trusts and estates.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $35 (dependent on location and function) USD per hour.
