We are looking for a Paralegal to join our team in Chicago. The Paralegal will get to work across a broad range of subject areas in a fast-paced and highly-collaborative legal department. In this role, you will assist with legal proceedings, transactions and other legal matters by continuously identifying needs and optimizing procedures and solutions. This role works cross functionally across areas of legal, including litigation, corporate securities, commercial, employment, regulatory, and compliance matters.

The Legal team is a global function that handles the commercial, regulatory, employment, IP, risk, and fraud matters at Groupon. We collaborate and work cross-functionally across all business channels including product, marketing, Groupon Goods, information security, corporate development, and more.

Responsibilities:
Manage Groupon's litigation files, calendar, and legal hold systems
Coordinate and manage Groupon worldwide eBilling platform
Assisting with various discovery projects, employment investigations risk matters, and litigation tasks
Assist with corporate subsidiary record keeping
Liaise with other departments such as finance, accounting, risk, and HR on miscellaneous projects
Assist with and/or manage subpoenas, liens, and other formal service documents
Various administrative responsibilities, such as filing, scanning, photocopying, making binders, and coordinating payment of vendor invoices
Requirements:
2+ years’ experience in a law firm or in-house setting
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Ability to work with a fast-paced team, both in-office and with counterparts around the globe
Proactive attitude and ability to work well independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with cross-functional stakeholders
